Cookie & Local Storage Policy
Last updated: October 2026 | Transparent Information on Storage Technologies
1. Introduction
This Cookie & Local Storage Policy explains how PythonOps ("we", "us", or "our"), operated byAlejandro Romero, utilizes cookies and browser-based client-side storage mechanisms (such as localStorage) on this static website.
We believe in maximum data privacy and minimal tracking. We do not track you across third-party websites, nor do we sell your data to advertising brokers.
2. What Are Cookies and Local Storage?
Cookies are small text files placed on your computer or mobile device by a web server when you visit a website.
Local Storage (HTML5 localStorage) is an industry-standard browser mechanism that allows websites to store data locally within your browser with no expiration date. Unlike traditional cookies, local storage data is never transmitted automatically in HTTP request headers with every page request, resulting in improved security and faster page loading.
3. Exact Storage Mechanisms Deployed on This Site
Under the EU ePrivacy Directive (Directive 2002/58/EC) and the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), storage mechanisms are classified by purpose:
| Key / Identifier | Type | Purpose | Duration | Classification |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| theme | Local Storage | Persists user display choice (Light Mode / Dark Mode) across navigation to prevent flashing (FOUC). | Persistent until cleared | Strictly Necessary (Exempt from consent) |
| cookie_consent | Local Storage | Records your explicit acknowledgement or choice on the privacy consent banner. | Persistent until cleared | Strictly Necessary |
| backUrl | Session Storage | Remembers navigation history to enable the "Back" breadcrumb button functionality. | End of browser session | Strictly Necessary |
4. Third-Party Analytics & Tracking Status
Current Status: Zero Third-Party Advertising Pixels.
- We do not run Meta Pixels, Google Tag Manager marketing trackers, LinkedIn Insight Tags, or invasive third-party ad networks.
- Search functionality is powered by Pagefind, which runs entirely in your browser using static index shards. No search queries are ever dispatched to external search provider servers.
- If aggregated, privacy-preserving performance telemetry is enabled in future releases, it will only load after receiving your affirmative consent via the Cookie Consent Banner.
5. How to Manage and Delete Stored Data
You have complete control over cookies and local storage. You can inspect, block, or delete them through your browser settings:
- Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data.
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
- Apple Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
- Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies.
Note: Clearing local storage will simply reset your theme to your operating system's default preference and redisplay the privacy banner.
